The essence of boats from the 1920′s, 30's, and 40′s. BARREL BACK has something for everyone, as well as great indoor and outdoor seating with views of one of the most beautiful lakes in Michigan.
For nearly 30 years, Executive Chef Eddie Marusarz has vacationed on Walloon Lake. He is excited to join the Barrel Back team and become a permanent resident of such a beautiful place. Chef Eddie began his culinary career at the age of 14 at his parent’s motel on Treasure Island, Florida. He attended culinary school in St. Petersburg and was mentored in classical French food preparation by Master Chef Roland Chaton.
Cooking at notable venues such as the Carolina Yacht Club in Charleston, Doral Resort in Miami, Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, and The Shreveport Petroleum Club and Eastridge Country Club in Shreveport has given Chef Eddie vast experience in providing creative, well prepared meals. Chef Eddie has been married to his wife Kathy for 32 years. She is a Special Education teacher. They have two sons, Steven and Joel, who they are very proud of. Chef Eddie is looking forward to continuing the tradition of excellent dining at Barrel Back and bringing a little Southern influence in to add to the fun!
